Putting people first: how our health advice is fighting to help you live well with a lung condition
Jess from our Health advice team goes through the top 4 targets for all our health advice. She explains how we make sure our supporters are at the heart of everything we do and part of our fight to help everyone with a lung condition live well and breathe freely.
Creating health advice and information that thousands of people rely on is a complex task. Here are the four main aims we think about when putting together our health advice:
Timely and relevant health advice
Our in-house team of health advice experts look to our helplines and social media channels to uncover what topics people are interested in. They also speak directly to people with lung conditions.
Everything we do starts with finding out what people with lung conditions want to know.
Accessible to the people who need it
Once our in-house team knows what people with a lung condition need – then they must work out what is the best way to present it. It could be as a web page, a video or as a downloadable resource.
Up-to-date and evidence-based
Every piece of health advice that we release is cross-checked against the latest medical evidence to make sure anything we advise is bang up to date. And it doesn’t stop there… Everything is also reviewed on a regular basis.
Putting people with lung conditions first
To make sure that everything makes sense to people with a lung condition, we have a Readers Panel made up of people affected by a lung disease. It’s this magic ingredient that really helps make sure that our health advice is useful to the people who need it.
